These sites – such as article directories - allow you to make your content/article available to other webmasters or blog owners to use in their own sites (thus providing them with fresh content) and as your article/content will contain a keyword link back to your site you will also be building inward links to your own web site, both from the original directory and the site that has added your content.

Internet Directories: You should make sure your site is listed within the internet directories, many people use these as a way of searching for their chosen information within a variety of categories – these also give you links back to your site. There are literally thousands of these directories to be found online each with their own terms: be it paid submission or sites to be listed within a limited category/genre etc.

Search engine submission. Starting your website development and promotion efforts by listing your site with the top search engines is another good first move. Be cautious not to spam the search engines because being banned can certainly halt your website promotion in an instant.
